The Victoria & Albert Museum notes that copies of Ferdowsi's masterpiece 'were often made for rulers across the Persian-speaking world, including the Mughal empire and the sultanates of the Deccan. This page, depicting the hero Rustam rescuing Bizhan from the dungeon, has been detached from a manuscript probably copied in Bijapur.'
